I managed to complete a full week without posting anything to this blog – a testament to how crazy a week can get. It suffices to say the world didn’t stop rotating around its axis in the interim. Some of the trivia and madness catching my attention:
>> The renewed conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As if there isn’t enough strife on the continent already. I have to say the speed at which David Miliband (the British Foreign Secretary) and his French counterpart descended on the DRC caught me totally by surprise. Where were the African leaders by the way?
>> I still shed bucketloads of tears (of laughter), and end up on the living room floor weak and incapacitated courtesy of Nhlanhla Nene’s misfortune. May I hasten to add that I can afford this luxury purely on the basis that Chairman Nene was not seriously injured or maimed by the incident. Chair Man – get it?
>> Obama’s aunt can’t say she didn’t get her moment in the limelight.
>> And most significantly, my mortality was put to the test yesterday evening courtesy of Lewis Hamilton. My heart almost caved in during those final moments in Sao Paolo. Not for the faint-hearted!

“So this is where you all hide?” As an African imbiber says when he finds mates who have been doing disappearing acts eMadlodlo because of his tightness with regards to his ‘personal fiscal policy’ for the week…
Suffice to say you and your lovely missus have been missed by my family that have only gazed upon your face once, i hope i find you well..
i have not read your blog but feel i should throw in my tuppence’s worth.. like all concerned citizen’s do; Brand and Co spring to mind.. (pause and wonder if Ofcom would entertain my sentiments.. )
as usual, bravo; but i will also say you could do more my son.. more of the personal touch would be appreciated. i feel you have a lot to offer on the blogging front..
dont get me wrong, love the links but would much rather stay on the one page without flitting from one to the other as i would do with every beautiful flower (ahem..)

Archkins – you’ve made my day. I’ve read at my own peril and where I can, you bet I will seek to entertain your wishes. As for the moods – we’ve always known you for being a tad bit unpredictable. That all adds to your collective flavour
. Great of you to stop by and do come back and mix things up a little bit. Stay well!

Chair man? Talk about “No pun intended”
Yeah, I was beginning to worry about your cyber presence young blogger. But its goof to see you are still around…
And talk about the ugly side of politics… Trust the McCains’ to go and dig up Obama’s aunty.
As for Hamilton, that was fantastic!! Watched it on my feet during the last lap…

Gagisa – still here – great of you to do a stopover.

I actually watched the chairman’s fall live on air. I heard the chair crack- thought for a moment how outrageous it would be if it gave way… then it actually did. And I couldn’t believe it! Funny.

Yup…Obama’s aunt definitely got her 60 seconds of fame…and then some!
I am a die-hard Ferrari supporter and was hoping for Massa to win the championship all season, but then deep down I really wanted Lewis Hamilton to win being a person of colour and I think it is good for the sport and will encourage other non-white youngsters to get into motor racing. Too bad Hamilton was driving for the wrong team:-)
Good to have you back in the blogosphere after your noticeable absence.

Andile – I would imagine you would have had to pinch yourself watching that incident live. I just think it’s a miracle Mr Nene wasn’t seriously hurt.
*=JF=* – You must have been caught between a rock and a hard place given your affections for Ferrari. I agree – Lewis took too much stick unnecessarily this past season and it must have been satisfying to overcome all that to win the championship (albeit with a little help from Timo Glock). It’s always good to hear your thoughts.

me again.. cant stay away.. this is addictive..
i am upset with the lack of love from you.. you promised a call – “one on one” you called it.. ncif (yep read it as it looks, ngiyanxapha)
ah well, onto the latest news – Obama’s history making win..
Ladbrokes will probably start a bet to see how long he’ll last before some righteous Aryan brother hears the word of God in his ear and decides to save everyone …. you can see how this is going..
time for change, yada yada yada, happy about it .. cant wait to be invited for a barbie on the white house lawn..
its about time a brother had a go but he is not really a brother (yeah bring it if you do not agree – love a lively discourse) and i feel he will strike the right balance.. i guess where we are from he might even have been called emsaladi…i hope he has some strength of character and speaks straight from the heart like my fav character Jack Ryan.. i love the way he has gone with the people rather than the lobbyists.. makes us believe he is his own man (or at least the people’s man)
he also does not suffer from the burden of being African American, 22″ spinning rims, bass bins and all that..
cant wait for the conspiracies and the chicks to come out claiming how he used his cigar (remember Clinton).. just pray he is a wholesome individual with not too many skeletons…but then again we dont want him to be too good to be true..
he has overcome the illegal immigrant one, the hanging out with the wrong people smear – as long as he has no hip hop buddies then he’ll be safe from the drive bys and beefs that come with that territory..
dont you dare calll me a closet r&*ist..
( i really should start blogging)

Archkins – I second that – get a blog! I’d be the first one on it witnessing you muse. I looked out for you on Messenger where you normally dwell (ie 2 days ago) to no avail. Will try again! Great to hear your thoughts mate!

Nice one about ‘Kenyans’! I think Chris Rock hit the nail on the head.
